Privacy Policy

Short version: Your CV is yours. We never sell your data and nothing you write in the builder is used for advertising. External connections go to OpenAI (AI summary), Stripe (payment), Firebase (your account and saved CVs) and Google (analytics and advertising) — and you can decline the last of those without losing a single feature.

1. Information We Collect

Carivo is a fully browser-based tool with no back-end server or database. All CV data you enter — name, experience, skills, photo — is stored only in your browser's memory during the session and is never transmitted to Carivo servers. We do not collect or store: • Personal information entered in the CV builder • Photos uploaded to the tool • CV content or employment history We do measure how the site is used — which pages are visited, and which steps people complete — through Google Analytics. See "Cookies and analytics" below, including how to turn it off.

2. AI Summary Generation

When you use the AI Summary Generator, your job title, industry, skills, and years of experience are sent to the OpenAI API to generate a professional summary. This data is processed in real time and is not retained by Carivo.

3. Payment Processing

When you purchase Single Pass, Pro Lifetime, or subscribe to AI Unlimited, you are redirected to Stripe's secure payment page. Carivo never sees or stores your card details. Stripe processes the transaction and redirects you back with a plan confirmation parameter.

4. Local Storage

We store small items in your browser's localStorage: • User authentication tokens (Firebase Auth) • UI language preference • Your cookie choice, so you are only asked once • A record of purchases already reported to analytics, so one purchase is not counted twice These items never leave your device and can be cleared at any time via your browser settings. Google Analytics sets cookies of its own — see the next section.

5. Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics, and to measure the results of our advertising. These set cookies that recognise a returning browser and let us see how many people finish a CV or complete a purchase. They do not read the contents of your CV. Your choice, and how to change it: • In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, these cookies are switched off until you accept them. • Elsewhere they are on by default, and the banner lets you decline. • Either way, you can change your mind at any time using the button at the end of this page. Declining does not limit the site. Every feature works the same way.

6. No Account Required

Carivo does not require registration of any kind to use standard drafts. We do not sell your data or build marketing profiles from your CV. Where analytics identifies you at all, it uses an account ID, never your name or the contents of your CV.

7. Third-Party Services

We integrate with the following external services. Each has its own Privacy Policy: • OpenAI API — AI text generation • Stripe — payment processing • Google Fonts — typography loading • Firebase — secure cloud services • Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads — measurement and advertising • Soro — the articles on our blog page

8. Children's Privacy

Carivo is intended for adults seeking employment. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes take effect when posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of Carivo after changes constitutes acceptance.
